Rejected was definitely a different way to express an individuals opinion about the media. At first it was extremely confusing to me, but after talking about it it did make sense. Searching You Tube I found a few other cartoons that were Don Herzfeldts and then other that clearly took his creation and used it as inspiration. One in particular gave him the credit for his creativity. The Pickle. Obviously Herzfeldts ideas are not mainstream and neither is his way of expressing them. But since they seem to inspire many people who share his feelings in such a way that the “copy” his cartoons does that mean it’s breaking into the mainstream?
